Commentary
paryāya.verse. Books 15 and 16 are entirely in prose — Whitney calls them *paryāya-sūktas* — and are stylistically closer to the Brāhmaṇa literature than to the verse hymns of Books 1–14. Book 15 idealises the *vrātya* (a wandering ascetic outside the Brahmanical pale); Book 16 is short and miscellaneous.
